The Jeffersons

Paul Jefferson and Lisa Brokop met for the first time at a Starbucks in Nashville. A couple hundred coffees...and a few years later - they were married. In the years that followed that initial meeting in the coffee shop, they never once contemplated combining their musical talents. As a solo act you get used to carrying the load and being the person alone out in front. Then one night during a concert Lisa was giving, Paul joined her onstage for a special one-song duet.

The crowd went wild. And The Jeffersons were born.

Whitney

So sad to learn of the passing of the Whitney Houston this past week. But the saddest part is that such an awesome, God given talent was taken away that really didn't have to be. And of course, the media has been going to town with it...any picture of Whitney they can find that doesn't show her in her best light ends up in the tabloids...all kinds of rumors about her last few days and what she did or didn't do. I was at the grocery store yesterday and every magazine and gossip column had her on the …

Full Circle at the Blue Bird

As you may know The Jeffersons are playing at the Bluebird on Feb 15th at 9pm which we've done many times before, but this time there is a little different twist to it. Aside from the amazing guitar guru Porter Howell, we'll be joined by the new Canadian act 'One More Girl'. They are 2 young ladies, Carly and Britt McKillip, that I have had the pleasure of knowing since they were little tykes. Their dad, Tom Mckillip has been the guitar player/band leader of the Lisa Brokop band for over 15 years so the …

We Are All A'Twitter

It's a crazy world we live in now...texting, emailing, tweeting, tablets, etc...We must admit that we haven't been the greatest at keeping up with all the new ways to communicate with people. I guess you could say we're kind of old fashioned and prefer a more traditional way but none-the-less, it's the world we live in and we want to keep up with everybody else and stay in contact with YOU! So, that being said, we're making a new years resolution (we don't usually like to make resolutions) to be more on top of the internet and the ways of the future. We'll be on Twitter more often and FB as well...so watch for us! Hope the year has started out in an awesome way for everybody!

Happy New Year

New Years Eve was a strange one for us this year...2011 came to an end and in it's final moments took away a dear family member. Paul's eldest sister Wendy passed away around 10 pm CST on New Years Eve after a short battle with cancer. Paul will go to San Francisco this week to be with his family so please keep them all in your prayers during this sad time. It's a tough way to start out a new year but yet it is a reminder that life is short and we must make the most of what we have now. We want to live …

Merry Christmas

Doesn't look like we'll be getting a white Christmas this year in Nashville...last year was a rarity for sure!

The holidays have snuck up on us again and made us wonder where the year went...it's crazy how fast it goes! We thought time went fast before having a child...now it moves at lightning speed!   We're spending the holidays this year at home in Nashville...just the 3 of us...and it has been nice to have a little down time this week.

It's been an awesome year for The Jeffersons and we are grateful for all of the opportunities presented to us this year and for the new friends and fans we've made throughout our travels.  We hope everyone finds a few quiet moments over the next week or so to relax and reflect on the past year and we wish you all the happiest of holidays and for peace, love and health in 2012!

Merry Christmas!
