Paul Jefferson and Lisa Brokop met for the first time at a Starbucks in Nashville. A couple hundred coffees...and a few years later - they were married. In the years that followed that initial meeting in the coffee shop, they never once contemplated combining their musical talents. As a solo act you get used to carrying the load and being the person alone out in front. Then one night during a concert Lisa was giving, Paul joined her onstage for a special one-song duet.

We Are All A'TwitterIt's a crazy world we live in now...texting, emailing, tweeting, tablets, etc...We must admit that we haven't been the greatest at keeping up with all the new ways to communicate with people. I guess you could say we're kind of old fashioned and prefer a more traditional way but none-the-less, it's the world we live in and we want to keep up with everybody else and stay in contact with YOU! So, that being said, we're making a new years resolution (we don't usually like to make resolutions) to be more on top of the internet and the ways of the future. We'll be on Twitter more often and FB as well...so watch for us! Hope the year has started out in an awesome way for everybody! @lisabrokop @thejeffersons Happy New Year
New Years Eve was a strange one for us this year...2011 came to an end and in it's final moments took away a dear family member. Paul's eldest sister Wendy passed away around 10 pm CST on New Years Eve after a short battle with cancer. Paul will go to San Francisco this week to be with his family so please keep them all in your prayers during this sad time. It's a tough way to start out a new year but yet it is a reminder that life is short and we must make the most of what we have now. We want to live …
Merry ChristmasDoesn't look like we'll be getting a white Christmas this year in Nashville...last year was a rarity for sure! The holidays have snuck up on us again and made us wonder where the year went...it's crazy how fast it goes! We thought time went fast before having a child...now it moves at lightning speed! We're spending the holidays this year at home in Nashville...just the 3 of us...and it has been nice to have a little down time this week. It's been an awesome year for The Jeffersons and we are grateful for all of the opportunities presented to us this year and for the new friends and fans we've made throughout our travels. We hope everyone finds a few quiet moments over the next week or so to relax and reflect on the past year and we wish you all the happiest of holidays and for peace, love and health in 2012! Christmas Tour FunWe've had a really great time on the road this past week and a half! We had 6 shows total...3 in California and 3 in BC and all were a ton of funl. We made a lot of new fans and enjoyed performing songs from our Christmas EP. Christmas is always such a great time to be on the road! Everybody is in the holiday spirit! Next year, we hope to make it an even bigger tour...more Christmas songs, more cities, more people! Today we are in Surrey with The Brokops and will be having a Christmas dinner since we won't be here for the actual day. Tomorrow we head back to Nashville...long flight with a 2 year old...pray for us! We'll be having a quiet Christmas in Nashville, just the 3 of us... Don't get too caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle over the next couple weeks...enjoy the special moments! Cool ThingsThe Jeffersons have some cool projects on the go right now! The first one is our Christmas EP - very exciting! It's almost ready for release and it will include 6 of our favorite Christmas songs. We will be releasing 'Baby It's Cold Outside' in the next few weeks to our friends at radio so listen for it...it's a classic song that you may remember from the movie "Elf", but we fell in love with the song listening to the Ray Charles/Betty Carter version. Now there will be a Jeffersons version! The second project we're working on is with our friends at Take8 Films. We're putting together a five song acoustic performance video that will be like a mini concert that people will be able get from our website and when we're out touring. So far it's about half done and we're getting some really great footage. We'll let you know when we get closer to finishing... |
