Find the Sun
[3:45]
lyrics
It's been said about Nashville that if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes and it will change. That was the idea behind writing this song, using stormy weather as a metaphor for a stormy relationship, or perhaps it's the relationship that is the metaphor for the weather. Anyway, when Lisa poured water on me in the video it was so cold I couldn't even lip synch with the music! - PJ

Crazy on Me
[3:43]
lyrics
This is a true story. If you don’t already know, both Jeffersons are a little bit crazy and this is about taking on the idiosyncrasies of your partner and accepting them, crazy and all! As it turns out most of the song is about Paul (including painting the doorknobs red). - LB

Beautiful Somewhere
[3:37]
lyrics
This song was originally written to be sung by a solo artist (me) but seemed like the perfect duet for The Jeffersons. It's about two people finding strength in each other and clinging to the hope that things will get better if they wait long enough. I think every couple goes through their version of this song...including us! - LB

Who Lied to You
[3:32]
lyrics
Another song written with one of my favorites, Sonny LeMaire and someone I don't write with that often, Lisa. The song came out of a belief we share that generally we are all born with healthy self esteem and that our culture gradually beats us down with perpetuated social lies. - PJ

One Headlight
[3:32]
lyrics
Simply one of my favorite songs, written by Jakob Dylan, son of song-writing legend Bob Dylan. The song is about anger toward a close friend who commits suicide not realizing that life is worth living even with just one headlight working. - PJ

Almost Like We Meant To
[4:13]
lyrics
This is the Paul and Lisa story in a nut shell. We didn't write it together but I wrote it with Fred Wilhelm and our relationship was the muse. - LB

Take My Heart
[3:30]
lyrics
I got the idea to write this song after seeing a Simpsons episode where Bart's first experience with love is when he becomes infatuated with his baby sitter. When she's about to ride off on the handle-bars of another boys bike Bart fantasizes that she reaches into his chest, pulls out his heart and says "you won't be needing this". Although it was funny, it was also accurate in my opinion, and therefore not funny at all. - PJ

Alcatraz
[4:08]
lyrics
This is a song about addiction. Honest introspection realizing what imprisons you. Addiction, like Alcatraz, is a scary place to be. - PJ

Act of Defiance
[3:15]
lyrics
I wrote this with Jeff Ross during the end of my time with Curb records. I was very frustrated with the 'business' side of the music business and getting really tired of alway having to answer to someone else. And tired of trying to be perfect to please other people. This is about stepping outside the lines...letting off some steam. - LB

Thoughtless Day
[3:39]
lyrics
I got together with my fellow Canadian buddy Patricia Conroy to write this. She told me about this title one day and I said, 'save that one for me! I wanna write it with you!' I think everybody has been in that low-down broken hearted place where it just doesn't seem right that the sun should come out and shine and be so inconsiderate of your feelings. Sometimes it's THAT bad! - LB

Still
[3:56]
lyrics
I wrote this while in an early break up with my future wife Lisa. It was a very sad and holy time. - PJ

What a World
[3:28]
lyrics
I wrote this with Fred Wilhelm on the day my grandmother passed away. We had started working on something else when I got the phone call that she had died. Of course our mood was completely changed and we were going to pack it in for the day but decided to just let the emotion of the moment take over. We were talking about what she might say about her life from wherever she was and this is what we came up with. - LB
